Wake Forest is one of the smallest colleges in Division I basketball, and the fact that they play in the much ballyhooed ACC would make one think that they would have a hard time competing. Not so.

This season will probably be one that Wake fans thoroughly enjoy. The Deacs are, frankly, loaded with future pro talent and have a ton of offensive firepower that will thrill the Joel Coliseum. It might take a while for their defensive effort to match their offensive prowess, but this team is going to make some noise in the ACC and probably will make a run right into the NCAA tournament. One of the more interesting games on the Wake Forest schedule is Bucknell, a giant killer from the NCAA tournament that has proven it is is a team that can play on the big stage. The Deacs will have to guard against complacency, but coach Dino Gaudio has the talent to get the wins this season and make a mark in the ACC.
